The Alarms Management study consists of two phases:

  • The Identification phase, requiring the initial set-up and pre-filling of a Master Alarms Database (MAD) for each alarm system.
  • The Rationalization phase, in which the Alarms Management Workshop will be held to evaluate the prefilled parameters in the MAD, verify the associated trip and alarm settings, and define the notifications and priorities.

The objective of Alarms Management study is:

  • To review all alarms given their prime purpose.
  • To go through a structured work process, to identify and document the set of notifications that are included in the alarm system.
  • To provide the operator with a consistent and reliable action event notification interface that supports their efforts to safely & efficiently operate the process/plant.
