Particular attention is paid to the plant layout with regard to escape, access to equipment/ valves/ operation/ maintenance, other macro considerations like open versus enclosed structures etc., to establish construction, maintenance and operating philosophy.
The following activities are ensured in the Model review:
- To verify that Plant Design is conforming to the requirements of the applicable codes and standards.
- To verify for consistency with documents such as PFDs, P&IDs, UFDs, Plot Plan, hazardous area classification, Project specification, standards, applicable regulations & local codes.
- To record and gain client approval for design in order to proceed on an informed basis considering Safety, Constructability, Operability, Maintainability, Functionality and Accessibility.
- To verify that the plant design is fit for purpose.
- To check the equipment blocks are identified.
- To check the aspects of HSE are followed.
- To ensure Material Handling Methodology/Laydown area is available.
- To check major structural framework modelled.
- To check if there is any clash with various services.
