Ergonomics is the science of worker’s and task’s interconnection with each other. Tasks can involve working in a plant, machinery, and/or equipment.
Ergonomics aim, through design and assessment, to improve the match between tasks and each person’s physical structure, abilities and capacities in handling and processing information. It also seeks to adapt work to physical and psychological capabilities and limitations, by employing appropriate anthropometric measures. To achieve these goals, ergonomics relies on scientific and engineering disciplines such as physiology, anatomy, psychology, physics and biomechanical engineering.
