1998 as they begin, I first tasted the added value of being loss prevention and safety professional. Yes, I strongly believe people are born with a mission to deliver on the face of this earth, so did I.
Coming from a small town in Maharashtra – India, I always dreamt high and then I never thought of becoming a safety professional until I landed in Dammam, Saudi Arabia as destined. I went on learning Fire & Gas Detection System Design in addition to fire protection system design by looking over peers’ shoulders.
The journey wasn’t over! I took a hop and got into fire, safety & risk consultant’s shoes after exhausting the desire of a mere designer; I was blindly following someone else’s basic design. A place where I wanted to be? Yes, I was very much satisfied with what I was doing then until I realized a disparity with my academic qualification and profession. As they say, where there’s a will, there’s a way! I acquired a postgraduate qualification after 13 years of leaving college.

I went on sharpening my tools/skills and got trained/certified by pioneers in the industry like:
- HAZOP & PHA Chairman / Facilitator (TUV Nord)
- SIL identification Chairman (TUV-Sud)
- FERA/QRA
- Consequence & Risk Analyst (DNV-Australia)
- Loss prevention system design, etc.
The destined mission was still incomplete until SHALE was unearthed. I will write more about SHALE in our next blog. Till then remain blessed, stay safe and healthy.
