Fire and Gas (F&G) detection philosophy covers description of F&G system, which will be installed at project facility to aid the protection of personnel, assets, and the environment, from hazards associated with HC releases, which subsequently can lead to fire.
The following steps are followed for developing F&G Philosophy:
Step 1: Hazard Identification
Step 2: Identify Major Accident Events (MAE)
Step 3: Location of MAE (Where can leak/fire occur? i.e., F&G Detection Zones & Areas on Facility)
Step 4: Criticality for Escalation (What can be Affected? ‘Grading’ of F&G Detection Zones)
