Fire protection philosophy details the standards to be used, adjusted to the national codes and standards, and lies as the foundation of EPC Contractor safety engineering development. Usually the document will address the following aspects:

2. F&G Detection networks.
3. Active fire protection.
4. Passive fire protection.
5. Fire-fighting base performance.
6. Alarm systems (manual and automatic).
7. Equipment specific requirements.
8. Building specific requirements.
9. Emergency power generation requirements.
10. Minimization of the inventory.
11. List of standard and national laws to be referenced.
12. Sometimes the Philosophy will also address specific issues like safety during construction, ESD systems, etc.
